Farming Under the Viaduct

Farming in under-utilised spaces in Singapore + hands on activity.

Date & Time: 25 March 2017, 2:30pm - 4:00pm or 4:30pm - 6:00pm
Venue: West Coast Viaduct, near West Coast Park, under the viaduct intersecting Clementi Road.
The cost is $10 per person, with limited spaces available, so booking is essential.

What you will learn in this session:

- Different urban farming methods and types (hydroponics, aquaponics, mushrooms and aquaculture).
- Closed loop farming.
- Future of farming (Citizen Farm model)
- What do we look for in the market?

What you will take home:

The session is divided into two parts. It starts with an hour long talk about the topics related to urban farming and using under utilised spaces and how closed loop urban farming models are the future. The last 30 minutes will be spent looking at how simple it is to create your own grow racks and using it in your home to grow everyday vegetables!

Walk home with a packet of seeds and a hand out.

Instructor Bio:

As the project manager in Citizen Farm, Darren (+65 96711039) and his team have managed to conceptualise an urban farming model that is holistic and future ready. Having worked in farms in Singapore and Australia, his passion is to find solutions to make the global food system better than it is today.
